What changed in 2026

The record book moved.

The 2026 season brought major Division I breakthroughs, including Ja’Kobe Tharp’s 12.75 in the 110m hurdles, Jaiden Reid’s 19.63 in the 200m, Samuel Ogazi’s 43.38 in the 400m, and Adaejah Hodge’s 10.63 and 21.68. Records in this table reflect 2026 championship results and supporting record compilations. New marks marked “2026 update” may still be listed as pending ratification by Track & Field News.

The details matter

How to read these records.

All-time vs. championship

An all-time collegiate record may be set at an invitational, conference, or NCAA championship meet. The NCAA Championship meet record is a separate category; these lists are not championship-only records.

Wind readings

Wind is recorded in meters per second for short sprints, hurdles, long jump and triple jump. A tailwind greater than +2.0 m/s generally makes those marks ineligible for records, subject to event-specific rules.

Dates and historical results

Older marks may involve hand timing, altitude or different competition rules. Dates, venues and meet titles from historical listings deserve independent verification; the accompanying ledger distinguishes source evidence.

Metric and imperial distances

Official field marks are shown in meters first. Feet-and-inches equivalents in parentheses are derived displays, rounded down to the nearest quarter inch; the published metric mark governs. Track race marks are times, and combined events are scored in points.

Source transparency

Records & verification.

Reviewed October 17, 2026. We checked the 2026 replacement marks against NCAA championship timing/results, governing-body reports, school announcements and collegiate record lists. Existing older record-holder and primary marks were compared with Track & Field News men's and women's collegiate record summaries. The original page supplies some historical meet/date metadata that we have not independently verified field-by-field. This page is a record reference, not an NCAA-affiliated official records database.

Method: Outdoor-only marks are used even when an athlete's faster absolute collegiate performance was made indoors. Wind and altitude annotations require careful interpretation. Track & Field News marks certain 2026 performances with “p” for pending ratification, even when NCAA timing sheets identify them as collegiate records. We show the performances as 2026 record updates without claiming every result has completed independent ratification. Source details and caveats accompany the row-by-row ledger.
